Liars Never Heal

Uncategorized Jul 09, 2018

Due to the extended amount time I have had alone with my thoughts here in Nicaragua and my ever curious mind, I took to wondering how much of my life actually was traumatic and how much of it was it safe. The reason for the thought process was generated by two things, firstly, I have big goals for next year and I was accepted into a master mind group of 20 individuals who are focused on creating massive impact in the world and for their own businesses. Secondly, I came across a video by Carolyn Myss, who I have been a fan of for a few years, and she punched me in the throat with her wisdom and no bullshit way of getting the point across, we truly need more people like her in the world.
Let’s start with what Carolyn Myss had provided me with, which was basically this, “Liars will never heal”. Okay, if you ever listened to Carolyn Myss you know she is a straight shooter, and her objective is to get us out of rut quickly, and she was talking about the years wasted living in in our misery of what happened once upon a time, and what if God sent an angle to earth to answer your questions and you asked “why did this happen to me” to which the angle replied “because it did, now what”? So, it got me to thinking, how many actual bad things really happened to me over the course of my life, and I came up with a number of about 20 things over the span of 52 years, 80% of them occurring between the ages of 5 and 16 years of age? Do you know that I have been alive approximately 455 thousand hours??
So even if an entire 10 years of my life for example was marred by bad things, that is still on about 87,000 hours in total, leaving approximately 368,000 hours of time where bad things were not happening! It was my mind that kept bringing the memories over, long after the occurrence had past, making me lie to myself that those events meant I couldn’t have the life that I wanted or deserved. Carolyn went on to say, either bring forth your wisdom or your woe, but if you claim to be an authentic human being, you will leave your woe in the annuals of time, and you help heal yourself and the world around you with your wisdom. Trust me, I get it, this work is not easy, but unless we stop lying to ourselves our world will never heal, our finances will never be what they could, our relationships will never prosper, our health will never be what we hoped for, and those connected to us will suffer because we do.
I think the issue is that we have been beating the drum of our past for so long that is all we know, so put down the drum, and start creating your life now. So this leads back to the first thing, my goals for 2018, which can only happen if I am living fully in the present, providing only my wisdom, leaving the woe behind. My life it seems, as I am sure it may be the same for you, has a countdown clock attached to it of which I am very aware, so I am compelled to be bolder in my life, to take chances more often, and to make sure that my choices and decision are never at the expense of another. I am choosing to seek out those people who are crushing their goals, living large and making a difference wherever they go, no matter how big or small, and I absolutely refuse be among the number Henry David Thoreau had spoken about when he said “The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation”.
